But, although the Royal Engineers are thus closed to us, I am still sanguine that good men for the posts of both Dr P and Second Assistant can be found amongst the other Corps, and that the Inspector General of Fortifications, to whom also I have written on the subject, will not be unwilling to spare such men to the Colony.
