I write to ask Your Excellency

to allow me to resign my duties

as Private Secretary. The attitude Lady Hennessy assumed towards

me on her return caused me

at the time to offer my resignation and though Your Excellency then declined it, I now tender it once more because I feel it is due to Lady Hennessy's position that

I should not remain at Government House when my presence there

appears to be so disagreeable to her.
