As a member of the Legislative Council of this Colony, I beg to send you this note, for the information of His Excellency the Governor, to state it is my duty to bring the foregoing facts of this painful case before The Legislative Council at its next meeting, as in my opinion they prejudicially and injuriously affect the character and efficiency of the public service of this Colony, on which Dr Extel continues to hold an important post.

I have now to request that you will, on my behalf, move His Excellency the Governor to convene a meeting of the Council on as early a day as possible, in order that I may have an opportunity of submitting to it such motion as I may deem advisable.
