I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 18th instant with reference to the water supply of Hong Kong.
And in reply to state that the proposed fire tank scheme will not affect the sources of the water supply to the Military buildings, if the fire scheme is kept separate from the General Water supply project.
