In reply to your letter of the 15th inst., regarding the selection of recruits for the Hong Kong Police Force, I am directed by the Earl of Kimberley to state that it would be regarded as profoundly unsatisfactory to apply at this time to the Inspector General of the Royal Irish Constabulary for any recruits.
