The ... be constructed to may ... hern et ... intercept the water and turn it into a tunnel about 2400 yards in length which will not be a costly undertaking.
Tytam works would at completion, about double the volume of water now at command being also of the present character, and would be capable of considerable extension hereafter at no great additional cost.
In view of such works being carried out it will be expedient to defer the construction of the proposed Fire tanks as a judicious reservation of the volume and pressure in the Tai-tam supply along the upper roads, till the completion of the Tytam works.
While the new supply may be feasible for fire extinction, Tytam volume may be made available for the lower zones of the city.
