Spent in the Colony, my passage and expenses out and home, travelling expenses in the Colony, office clerical and other charges, my expenses, wages of servants being paid in addition, but paying my own hotel or lodging expenses.
Should I find, on enquiry that the cost of living at Hong Kong is much greater than at Grenada, or should my services be required for a short time only I must ask for a somewhat higher rate of remuneration.
I shall however, take an early opportunity of calling on you, and learning precisely the nature and extent of the work to be done, when it may be possible to arrange for the payment of a lump sum, to cover all charges, an arrangement which I should prefer if practicable.
