Chun Clamy head, on the 28th November received wounds at the hands of Yong Hong, Yong Pak Kau, and others, distant relatives of theirs from the effect of which they died. The complainant further stated that his cousin, Yong Youg Low Cheong, had been injured in the same affray.

On the receipt of this report, the Magistrate proceeded at once to the spot, where he held an inquest upon the bodies of the dead and examined the wounds of the living, filling up a list of the injuries for record in his archives of the case. He further communicated a general report of the result of the inquest to all his superiors, and at the same time directed his policemen to issue notices offering a large reward for the apprehension of Yong Hong and the other criminals, which was to be effected within a given time.

The policemen report that, in obedience to these orders, and attended by the relatives of the deceased, they traced the criminals to Ha Tsuen (also known as Houghong), whither they followed. Yong Bak Kau, Yong A Lee, Yong Kum Yung, Yong Sui tek, Yong Kim tak, Yong Keng taon, Yong A tong ling, Yong A toring, Yong A thee, Yong A tenez, Yong I. age hung, Yong & teen, and Yong Bleakling, in all 13, had taken flight.
