I have the honour to request His Excellency the Governor to submit the following points for his decision.
1. Whether His Excellency would be pleased to permit me to apply to the Resident of Perak for the post of Assistant Commissioner of Police which will be vacant in the event of Mr. Parker being permitted to transfer to the Service under this Government.
2. Whether His Excellency would be pleased, in the event of acceding to my request for permission to apply to Perak, to grant me six months' leave to enable me to proceed to Perak and report myself.
I further respectfully request that the same indulgence be granted to Mr. Parker, namely, leave without pay, with effect from the date of his departure from Hongkong.
