being likewise thorough, the said students have been formally handed over to him to educate them, to teach each according to his individual attainments.
Now whereas the tsün üs (said Shek Soing, Resident of your colony) and the said students will reside here so far away from our government, it is merely to depend upon Your Excellency's protection.
As Your Excellency has always encouraged education and literature, and the people from different countries who come here are treated by Your Excellency with courtesy and sincere kindliness.
Therefore, the writer thinks that Your Excellency will surely not disregard the Students of our kingdom. For this reason, it is that the writer states the circumstances for Your Excellency's information, hoping you will enquire into their affairs with consideration and give your instructions that they may diligently attend to their duties and the completion of their studies be ordered to return early for employment.
This is the writer's earnest prayer. This being the taxes of Antim 1st, the writer wishes the season of the year.
