The Surveyor General to Acting Colonial Secretary
23rd November 1860
REG: 2:NO 166
Surveyor General's Office,
I have the honour to transmit to you the enclosed letter from Mr. John Minhinnett, one of the overseers lately employed on the Praya Works and who was to have returned home by last mail, stating that on the eve of his embarkation he was asked by Mr. W. Iver to stay behind and supervise the erection of the Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company offices, which appears to have been accepted by Mr. Minhinnett.
