This would require an outlay of $4080 for the first year, to which must be added cost of furniture and school Material say $200. The total outlay for the first year would therefore be $4330, leaving a probable balance of $670 on the amount of the vote ($5000) which His Excellency laid before the meeting of the Legislative Council for the purposes of the Normal School.

His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to make the following provisional appointments, from the 1st instant :-
Mr. ALFRED J. MAY to be Principal of the Government Normal School.
Mr. WONG KUN-LÁN to be Assistant Master of the Government Normal School. Mr. GEO. A. CALDWELL to be an Assistant Master in the Government Central School.
