Shall enrich the Principal who should be a gentleman, who has received a professional training of a high class as an English teacher, who possesses considerable lack and experience as a teacher of Youth, and has a fair knowledge of the written languages of China as well as the Cantonese Colloquial. The Principal should be assisted by a Chinese Master who should combine with a high moral character considerable scholarship in Chinese Classical literature and possess lengthened experience as a professional teacher of Chinese.
3. As regards students, the Principal of the Normal School shall take into training ten students, to begin with, being natives of Hong Kong and under 18 years of age. Further qualification for reception shall be a pass at an entrance Examination comprising the subjects included under the highest standard (II) of the Grant-in-Aid Schedule for Schools in Class I. Character and disposition as well as ability in speaking English shall also be taken into consideration.
