to supply the vacancies caused by Mr. Man's transfer from the Central School to the Normal School. They to recommend the appointment of Mr. Geo. C. Caldwell, as a master of the Central School, taking the position vacated by Mr. Hutchison as recommended by the Acting Head Master in his letter of 31st August last, which I enclose. Mr. Caldwell is at present Assistant Master of the Howing Public School but his committee have no objection to his applying for this post. He acted on a former occasion as Assistant Master at the Government Central School at $8. Eliot's recommendation, and gained for himself a high character as a teacher, as will be seen from C.2.0. 2154 and 2913 of 1880 which I enclose.
6. In the event of the above recommendations being approved of, I beg further to recommend that these appointments be made to date from the 12th instant.
