This provides for constructing logical and astronomical observatory, magnetic observatory, purchase and freight from England of the necessary instruments, Time Ball Fr. The cast of which I estimate approximately at $30,000.
It is assumed that $10,000 will be provided for in 1887. Current $20,000 will be expended during the year, leaving the balance to be provided for 1888.
The Estimate of $30,000 does not include the cost of constructing quarters for the observer and asst. observer, nor fencing, laying out, and planting the ground.
Lunatic asylum
This provides for the construction of new lunatic asylum for 680 patients, with rooms for attendants, out offices, etc.
