I have been enabled to put the large Police Launch at the disposal of the Committee while the Government Launch is available for Colonel Crossman whenever he may want her.

I hope to be able to furnish Your Lordship with further information as to the work of the Committee before long in a subsequent despatch.

I may state that the Commodore has now received the necessary authority from the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to cooperate with the Colonial Government and that Colonel Crossman and the Committee have been working diligently at the question before them.
