The appointments in the staff of the Magistracy consequent upon the promotion of Mr. Seth & your detailed in the 5th despatch of 11 Feb have my approval.
I also approve of the appointment of M. Alves as the CSO to be 1st class, with salary at the rate of $1920 per annum. And unless there is any special objection, the other clerks in the Colonial Secretary's Office in the Esquire should be moved up in due order.
The Councils approved the appointment with salary at the rate of $4240 - and clerk of Annem to the Councils with salary at the rate of $900 per annum.
