to Bangkok. This girl wishes to return to her parents at Wong Pong Li.
It will be observed from the statement that the woman Lee, also known as Siu Ying, wished to take the Free girls from Bangkok to Singapore, but this was prevented by Sau Si Shing Chang, who reported the matter to the British Consul, resulting in their return to Hong Kong.
The Free girls were separately examined and taken to the Po Leung Kuk, where female immigrants are housed, but they each stated that they had never been in that room or emigrated on a ship with a stamp, which is usual to avoid substitution.
Previous to departure, they were examined by the Medical Officer on board. I have seen some of the members of the Po Leung Kuk hospital.
In accordance with instructions from His Excellency the Governor, the members of the Society for the Protection of Women and Children were sent to the Tung Wah hospital to await further instructions.
