In consequence of
the Governor admitting the paper of particulars I have made a mistake about the salary of the place
The Blue Book states it as $3120
but by looking at the Estimates I find the place is
that the proper salary of
$2400 increase to M. Stewart
and that $720 was a
personal
allowance given in 1871
and 1872.
I think
$2400 is
enough for the place, especially as the Inspectorship of Schools has now been
placed in other hands and it will
probably not be too late to correct the
mistake
