Majesty's Government in the management of the colony, as well as the folony.
The Attorney General spoke of the Address that he remembered Thewart had signed, as containing a libel on the folony Government.
The Attorney General said that he had told the Governor that the address contained a portion of what he considered a libel on the folony Government, and that was one of the reasons why he declines to sign it, and that he adhered to that opinion.
The Acting Colonial Secretary said that he had fully considered the Address before signing it, and if he had thought there was anything libellous in it or anything disrespectful to His Excellency the Governor, he would not have signed it; and added that he would take another opportunity of explaining the matter.
The Governor concurs in the Attorney General's view of the effect of the address and much regrets that a Member of the Executive Government and the representative and Agent of the Governor himself should have given weight to the statement in the address reflecting on the folony Government.
