I have the honour to ack. the rect of Your desp. No. 106 of the 15th of July last relating to a claim made by Mr. d. Coughtrie.

I conclude nothing is to be written to melkein.

I have to sanction the grant of $1500 to Mr. Coughtrie, which has been awarded to him for compensation for damage alleged to be due to the bursting of a drain under his house, in May 1878.
