I have the honor, by direction of His Excellency the Governor, to transmit to you for any explanation or observation you may desire to make, a copy of your letter to Mr. Meigh's dated 19th September 1878.
I am also to say that, this letter having come to the Governor's knowledge without His Excellency having made a minute immediately following the above, a copy of Mr. Meigh's letter dated 25th November 1880 is enclosed for your information.
I am also to transmit a copy of Mr. Meigh's letter.
