not desire to be concerned in the defence on behalf of the Crown in the event of Mr. Aughtrie electing to have recourse to law. It was
very natural that Mr. Sharp should sympathise with his best friend in this very sad misfortune and I trust your remarks on this point may not be
misconstrued into

reflection on Mr. Sharp - I want to
leave

love from an unpleasant
duty.
