2. I take this opportunity of laying before Your Lordship the Audited Statement of the Assets and Liabilities of Hongkong from the 1st of January to 1st of June, 1881.

In April $80,000, and in May $60,000 were remitted. These sums appear in the enclosed statement as "Remittances not yet matured.....$140,000".
