and [Thomas Urquhart Thomson] or their heirs, executors, or administrators shall from time to time, and at all times, indemnify, and save harmless Her Majesty, her heirs and successors, from and against all loss, damage, cost, and expenses, which Her Majesty, her heirs, and successors, shall or may sustain, by or through the acts or defaults of the said [John Alfred Gibbons] and [Thomas Urquhart Thomson] their heirs, executors and administrators.

If the said [John Alfred Gibbons] and [Thomas Urquhart Thomson] their heirs, executors and administrators shall pay and make good to Her Majesty, her heirs, or successors, all and every sum or sums of money, not exceeding in the whole the sum of [Two thousand Pounds (£2000]) as shall be stated in any Certificate or Certificates given by the Officer for the time being of the Government of Hongkong, certifying and declaring that the Revenues of Her Majesty or of the Government of Hongkong have been defrauded or diminished by the acts, or defaults of the said [Henry Frederick Gibbons] and which Certificate, purporting to be under the hand of such Officer shall be accepted as conclusive evidence of the fact therein set forth, then the above written Bond and obligation shall be void or remain in full force.
