I consider Mezzan to be a competent Interpreter in Austrian and Bulgarian. He succeeded him in the post of Hindustani Interpreter at the Magistracy in 1868, upon his transfer to the Summons Court, and I know that the magistrates at the time felt the loss of his services very much.
