16 of his letter to Your Lordship are incorrect in the following particulars :_ He did not convey to the King the contents of the Acting Colonial Secretary's letter: nor was Dr. Eitel, the bearer of a despatch from me.
Mr. Keswick's proceedings from beginning to end, were not creditable to him, either in relation to the Government of this Colony or to the King of Hawaii. Fortunately, Mr. Keswick's mistake did not in any way mar the arrangements made by myself and the community for the proper reception and entertainment of the King.
