Victoria Gaol premises however it would be impolitic to overlook the long standing claims of the Police Department for some extension of ground at the backs of the Central Police Barracks, and I am of opinion that an area not less than that shown tinted red in the enclosed tracing should be reserved by Government for Police accommodation. If this opinion be acted on the net proceeds of the sale of the gaol premises would be considerably reduced and might not amount to more than Fifty or Sixty thousand dollars.
