On the 4th September, 1872, I rejoined the service as third Clerk in this Office (C.S.O. No 244-65 of 1872). On the 24th September, 1873, I was promoted to the Office of Second Clerk (C.S.O. No 2756 of 1873).
And on the 9th February 1875, I was promoted to my present Office of First Clerk (C.S.O. No 429 of 1875).
The emoluments of my present Office are $200 per month with quarters, $160 per annum for servants and gas.
I beg to append extracts from the various documents relating to my appointments and promotions. And I trust, gentlemen, I have given such satisfaction during the term of my connexion with this Department as will enable you to endorse the views of your predecessors in Office regarding my ability and general behaviour so as to merit the promotion solicited.
