Subject to the approval of Her Majesty's Principal Secretary of State for the Colonies, His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to make the following provisional appointments, from the 1st instant:
Mr. ARATHOON SETH, late First Clerk, Magistracy, to be First Clerk in the Colonial Secretary's Office; and, during Mr. WODEHOUSE's absence, to be Acting Chief Clerk and Clerk of Councils, vice J. M. D'ALMADA E CASTRO, deceased.
Mr. JAMES PARKER, late Second Clerk, Magistracy, to be First Clerk, Magistracy, vice Mr. Seth, promoted.
Mr. LI HONG-MI, late Third Clerk, Magistracy, to be Second Clerk, Magistracy, vice Mr. PARKER, promoted.
Mr. NG KWAI-SHANG, late 4th Clerk, Magistracy, and Temporary Clerk, Colonial Secretary's Office, to be Third Clerk, Magistracy, vice Mr. LI HONG-MI, promoted.
