correspondence that subsequently took place with Mr. Gibbons who said he had been informed that an order had been sent from the Colonial Office for an enquiry into the conduct of the Chief Justice. As however Mr Gibbons could not give me the name of the person who had so informed Mrs Gibbons, nor furnish me with any particulars on the subject, I caused him to be told that I had no desire to interfere with his movements.
