In order, and introduced with as much regularity as is possible under the circumstances in which I have been placed: I have wound up every bankruptcy and intestacy which is capable of being dealt with under the existing state of the law as at present administered, and nothing now remains to be done but what can be easily done by the present staff under the supervision of the Judges, the public interests will not in any degree be prejudiced by my withdrawal from the subordinate position which His Excellency has assigned to me.
The remuneration which I have received has not afforded me the means of paying my passage home, but His Excellency was kind enough to advance me monies after my arrival in the Colony, I propose on my departure to expend the money providing myself with the cheapest passage to be procured, and account to Her Majesty's Government for such sum as they may demand from me, and I trust that this course will meet with the approval of those concerned.
