I have the honour to forward a letter (enclosed) which I received yesterday from Mr. Justice Snowden in which he stated that the dead-lock still exists.
He details the difference between the Judges and Mr. Gibbons - an unprecedented case of the Judges having decided that business must be done in Chambers and that Mr. Gibbons persists in sitting in Open Court; the newspaper's report of his harangues there against the Judges, and particularly his scandalous slanders against them.
Since the date of Mr. Justice Snowden's letter Mr. Gibbons has continued the contest with our Judges. Mr. Justice Snowden sent into Court (as it was his duty to attend with) a list of the same un-disposed matters headed "In the Supreme Court and therefore to be taken in the large Court."
