In order to enable the Superintendent to take his vacation leave full salary, it would only have been considerate in me to have treated Mr Bowdler somewhat more liberally. Mr. Bowdler however having produced a numbered list of species promised by Mr Ford, and both Mr Bowdler and Mr Cerneau having emphatically affirmed the impossibility of the charges alleged by Mr Ford, I felt unable to admit the charge, and I should still hope that such charge was founded on some misapprehension.
