Report of 16 Oct 1879 now forwarded by Chief Price is of no general interest and appears to be little more than an attack on Mr Price, and I think it would have been better if the Governor had not published it. I suppose we must wait for further receipt of Chief Price's letters through the Governor.

I have the honour to forward the enclosed copy of a letter with printed enclosures which I have placed in the Governor's hands for transmission to My Lord the Secretary of State.
I venture to address you direct, as it may happen that His Excellency the Governor may be unable to attend to my communication by the next opportunity due to the press of business.
To W. H. W. Herbert Esq., Deputy Under Secretary for the Colonies.
