Kavanagh's letter from

Claydon on the subject

Mr Meade

(Minutes.)

From a chart which I have found in

the library it appears that the Lama Islands are a group

lying to the South of Hongkong

and quite distinct from Waglan Island the subject of the last letter to the Board of Trade as they

are Chinese a copy of

this might be sent to the F.O. to be laid before that government.

Chinese Government willing to maintain light if British Government will build lighthouse - does this mean that Hongkong Government should build the Lighthouse if it is wanted or that they (the Chinese) wish to have the option of the H.K. Govt. before they take any further step?
