COMMUNICATIONS TO BE LAID BEFORE THE COLONIAL SECRETARY

1880/7

70

Hong Kong, 1880

DOWNING STREET, LONDON,

3rd December 1880

I have the honour to enclose copy of letter received from the Deputy Inspector General of the Royal Irish Constabulary, in reply to one from this Office, from which it will be seen that no men can be obtained from that Force for service in the Hong Kong Police.

We propose to instruct Mr C. E. Anmnanney to select the men required for Hong Kong, from the supernumerary candidates on the Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham Police Forces who have volunteered for Colonial Office Service.
