Gentlemen,
In reply to your letter of the 20th inst I am directed by the Lords for the Colonies to convey to you his approval of the remuneration which you propose to offer to the Chief Constable of Glasgow and his assistants for services rendered to the Government of Hongkong in selecting recruits for the police force of the colony.
