MURDER TO BE ADRESSED TO THE COLONIAL OFFICE.

546

48 DOWNING STREET, LONDON.

10th January 1870

Sir,

Referring to your letter of the 27th ultimo, I have the honor to state, for the information of Sir Michael Hicks Beach, that when the Shanghai Bank paid over to this Department on the 20th November last, the sum of £19,750, the Account of the Government of Hong Kong showed a balance against that Colony of £3000.

Crediting the Account with the £19,750, the balance is at present only £14,364; if the £19,750 is to be credited, ...

To R. 1. Meade,

Colonial Office.
