I may add that it is my practice in preparing important despatches to put in print the principal documents on which the despatch is based; and,
in addition to that, there was in this case the fact that in Mr. Price's printed report of August, 189%, and his letters that were printed and laid before the Legislative Council in September 1879, he had made certain
statements reflecting on Mr. Ford's Forest management which Mr. Ford's Report of October, 1879, appeared to me
to answer.
