Captain and the Engineer were engaged in the fore noon with surveying different landing places together with in Horspool.
I also beg permission to observe that the Government when the Company in 1878 laid the Green Island cable, paid for exactly the same steamer, although the actual laying of this cable did not occupy the whole day.
In my letter to the Acting Deputy Superintendent of Police of 6th October I distinctly stated the conditions on which the Company would undertake the laying of the cable for the Government, and that I cannot make any deduction from the price.
