views of the Judges & Attorney General and interference on the part of the Government to remove all doubt on the subject, by giving such authority to the Judges to sit in their Chambers for the disposal of such matter as may be authorised by rule or law;

and it may probably at the same time be desirable to validate my past proceedings so far as they may be open to question by reason of the Judges having dealt with them otherwise than in court.

6. The details of the measure will be left to the consideration of the Legislative Council who will determine if you think fit to proceed with it, and it may be considered whether the points in question are to be supplemented by other provisions.

7. You shall communicate this correspondence and their enclosures to the Judges for their information.
