that these houses were brothels. The Chief Justice then again said that he could not accept the Official Assignee's statement.

advised him to bring the matter before him on affidavit. The Official Assignee then in a manner which I thought very disrespectful to the Court insisted that his statement as an Officer of the Court ought to be accepted and that no affidavit was necessary.

And having continued to urge this for some time the Chief Justice at length said that he could not hear him further on the matter and turned to me who was taking notes as Registrar and dictated his order prohibiting the sales which is now on the file.

Mr Wotton then applied for an order under Sec: 75 of the Bankruptcy Ordinance for calling a meeting for election of new Creditors. The Official Assignee made the order and directed notices of each meeting to be sent.
