the benefit of the estate that the said life interest should

be sold - IN: Wolton having

made his application the Chief Justice asked the Official Assignee if he had any reason to urge why the order asked for should

not be made. Mr Gibbons,

in reply stated that the principal reason for wishing to dispose of

the question

and were

the houses in

occupied by persons

of disreputable character, and that he thought that the Official Assignee ought not to be connected in any way with property of this description.

The Chief Justice then said that he could not accept the Official Assignee's mere statement,

... to the houses being of this character but that if the matter was brought before him on affidavit he would consider it - The Official Assignee then left chambers and after a few minutes returned and said that he had satisfied himself from examination of the books in The Registrar General's Office that!
