proceedings is
of the
very
gravest character, and sufficient
to
justify, if not demand, immediate
action on
the
part of His Excellency.
Without in any way arrogating to myself a position to which I am not fully entitled, I think
that my standing at the English bar gave me a title to respect from the Bench which was never withheld when I appeared, always treated with consideration. I feel compelled to say this much, after the treatment I received from the Chief Justice, in rudely contradicting me as he did, and has done repeatedly within my experience, on matters of law and in designating my remarks and phrases which have been applied to no English judge during a course of upwards of twenty years' practice.
I have the honour to be,
Sir,
Your most obedient Servant,
(Sd) H. Red. Gibbons,
Registrar.
