Draft of Instructions to Sheriffs and all others whose duty it may be to serve, or cause to be served, summonses on men belonging to the Naval and Military Forces.

Should any Sailor or Soldier in Her Majesty's Service have to be summoned by Legal Process issued by any Court in the Colony to answer to a charge of any offence against the Law, it will be the duty of the Summoning Officer to send, or to cause to be sent, to the Officer in charge of the ship or Regiment to which such Sailor or Soldier belongs, due notice of the time fixed for the hearing of the case.
