that "it is most important that the "Sheriff should have an Office always open during Office hours, within the precincts of the Court ?" The recommendation is made by the Commissioners; and both the Judges as well as the Commissioners seem to attach importance to the necessity of the Sheriff being held by a person having his occupations in the Supreme Court.
If any change be made in the existing law regarding the subject of distraint for rent, such necessity would be imperative. There is no doubt that it is what the Sheriff should have. All Office within the precincts of the Supreme Court where he could be found when wanted.

Refer this report to the Chief Justice for His Honor's perusal and observation - And, with reference to the last paragraph in the Chief Justice's letter of the 24th December 1874, let His Honor tender that I should be very glad to receive his opinions on every point touched upon in the Secretary of State's despatch.
