It's Excellency the Governor informed the Members that the Council had been convened for the purpose of taking into consideration a letter dated 8th September received from the Honorable Colonel Hall in which he requests the Council to take some action that would be a proper way to give effect to his wishes.
The letter is accordingly entered and is as follows.

on the 14th instant, alteration of the Minutes of the Meeting of Council held on 14th April 1887 respecting his seat in the Council during the absence from the Colony of Major General Donovan.
The letter is then read and after some discussion, the Council resolved that there was no objection to entering Colonel Hall's letter upon the Minutes of the Council.
I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 2nd September 1887 inclosing extract of the Minutes of the Executive Council of 17th April last.
