I am directed by His Excellency the Governor to forward you for the information of the Superintendent of the Civil Hospital and for any observations he may wish to offer, the accompanying copy of the concluding paragraph of a report made by the Deputy Inspector General of Hospitals and by Dr. O'Brien upon the work that devolves upon the Superintendent of the Civil Hospital

Copy of the Concluding paragraph of a report made by the Deputy Inspector General of Hospitals and by Dr. O'Brien dated February 1880.
The duties of the Superintendent of the Civil Hospital cannot be considered excessive for one Medical Officer in good health.
Forwarded to the Superintendent of the Government Civil Hospital for his information and observations as desired by His Excellency the Governor

I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of an extract from the Report by Mr. Mackinnon C.B. Deputy Inspector General and Dr. O'Brien private practitioner forwarded to me by direction of His Excellency the Governor
With regard to the extract I have to remark as follows. It contains two opinions
1st that the duties of the Superintendent cannot be considered excessive.
2nd That they are not of such an arduous nature as to preclude their efficient performance by one Medical Officer in good health.
