Inform D'Mc Coy that the salary of the Superintendent of the Civil Hospital has been lately increased by the sanction of the Secretary of State with a view to covering all fees and charges hitherto paid to the Superintendent and I consider it pretests any further increase the emoluments.

D'Whurrys salary has been fixed with the distinct understanding that it is to command his whole time and undivided services.

If the Superintendent's duties at times become excessive the Colonial Surgeon must make a formal statement to that effect.

With reference to the interviews which have taken place between His Excellency the Governor and yourself on the matter of the Small Pox Hospital I am directed by His Excellency to inform you
It is his wish that Dr Schwarz should take charge of the Small Pox Hospital close to the Civil Hospital. In future on this and similar cases you are to act as the head of the department and there was not to far as the Governor can see any necessity for referring to His Excellency.
